Scope
This policy applies to Wormhole Virtual Location for Mac and Windows, Wormhole Device Manager for Mac, and the website at wormholevirtuallocation.com.
Summary
- No Wormhole account is required.
- Chang Studio does not operate advertising or behavioral analytics in Wormhole.
- Coordinates, favorites, routes, and script projects are handled on your computer.
- Wormhole does not upload your route or script library to a Chang Studio account or synchronization service.
- Map providers, app stores, website hosting, and optional support communication have their own necessary data processing.
Information processed locally
To provide its features, Wormhole may process the following information on your computer:
- Connected-device details such as device name, identifier, operating-system version, connection type, and Developer Mode status.
- Locations and coordinates you enter, select, save, or send to the connected device.
- Route endpoints, calculated route points, movement settings, and saved favorite routes.
- Wormhole Script project names, descriptions, source code, and execution logs.
- Application settings and purchase-entitlement state needed to operate the installed app.
Saved favorites, routes, scripts, and settings remain in the app's local data area until you delete them or remove the app data. Connected-device information is used to communicate with the device and is not used to build an advertising profile.
Mac Device Manager
The sandboxed Mac App Store app communicates with Wormhole Device Manager through a local connection on the same Mac. Device Manager uses connected-device information and requested coordinates to perform USB device operations. It does not need broad access to other apps' data.
External services
Maps and place search
Map display, map tiles, place search, and route calculation may use platform or regional map providers. Requests to those providers can include the map area, search text, route endpoints, IP address, and standard connection information. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies.
Compatibility downloads
When Wormhole needs a compatibility or support file for a connected device, it may download that file from an online host. Like any web download, the host can receive an IP address, request time, requested file, and standard HTTP information.
App stores and purchases
Apple and Microsoft distribute the app and process store purchases. Wormhole may ask the platform store to verify or restore an entitlement, but Chang Studio does not receive your payment-card details. Store activity is governed by the applicable Apple or Microsoft privacy policy.
Diagnostics
Depending on your operating-system and store diagnostic settings, Apple or Microsoft may make crash or reliability information available to the developer. Such information can include the app version, operating-system and hardware details, a stack trace, process state, or a crash memory report. Chang Studio uses available diagnostics only to investigate reliability and support problems.
Website access
This website does not currently use first-party analytics, advertising trackers, or account cookies. It is hosted by Netlify, which may process standard server and security logs such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, time, and response status to deliver and protect the site. Links to Apple, Microsoft, and other sites lead to their services and policies.
Support requests
If you email support, Chang Studio receives the email address and information you choose to include. Support messages are used to answer the request, investigate the reported problem, and maintain a record when reasonably necessary. Do not send passcodes, passwords, payment credentials, or other secrets.
Your choices
- Delete individual favorites, routes, and script projects inside the app.
- Remove local app data by using the controls provided by the operating system.
- Control store diagnostics through the privacy settings offered by Apple or Microsoft.
- Contact Chang Studio about a support message or privacy question.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated when Wormhole features or service providers change. A revised policy will show a new effective date on this page. Material changes will not be presented as if they had always applied.
